Auburn Valley Country Club is a semi-private, 18 hole golf course located in Auburn, California.
Bob Bissett and Larry Curtola designed the course. Auburn Valley opened for play in 1960.
Water hazards (thirteen ponds) come into play on fourteen holes. Some of the fairways are tree-lined, and sand bunkers come into play on the fairways and around the greens. The signature hole is #10, a picturesque 425-yard, par 4, requiring an approach shot to a well-bunkered green.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,000 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,525 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 572 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 183 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 1, a 433-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 16, a 221-yard par-3.
The course closed in 2021.
Since Oakland-based Auburn Sierra Golf Club LLC bought the 175-acre property in Placer County for $2.9 million in late 2021, there's been no sign of any attempt to reopen the golf course or the affiliated bar and grill, clubhouse, or event center.

Easy driving, but tough 2nd shoot. Sand traps are bad. Greens are crowned. Nice course to walk with great surroundings with animals. Restaurant staff is the best.

Our foursome is made of seniors. Some of hills made it tough. Otherwise, we really liked the course.

This course is a little pricey for mid-week senior play ($45), but everything was is top condition. The greens especially were perfect: quite fast and very true. Very good fairways, OK bunkers, good tee boxes. We finished our round in about 4 hours flat; had a great time.

I play this course several times a year. Durning the winter if they ahd a lot of rain the back nine does not drain well, very soft and wet with standing water. During the summer a great course to play cooler than the valley. Faster than average greens.

Long time member. Empire Golf does an outstanding job managing this semi-private course. Course is in the best shape in years. Staff is exceptional. Membership opportunities include the sister course - Dark Horse - a great combination!

Nice place to play. Depending on the time (if it is busy) it will play slow as most courses in the area. Tough opening hole. You'd better warm up and then stay below the hole on your approach or you could start with a bigger number than you'd like.

Nice layout, except #9 and #13. #9 green needs to be reworked and #13 the only good design is the green area.

Played this course several times now, a good golf value, worth the extra miles required to get to this course.

Great pricing most of the week for afternoon rounds.

Greens are fast with some having very little grass. Some bunkers had standing water for no apparent reason (played 5 days after most recent rain.

Beautiful layout that you never tire of playing. Natural, mature design that comfortably blends in. Quiet, no houses, airplanes, freeways etc., lots of wildlife, numerous natural ponds, very fast and true greens. Not the tipical manufactured look-a-like golf coarse, ie. manmade waterfalls, monster boulders, etc. A couple years of neglected coarse maintainence and detailing have taken a toll, but correction procedures are now in place. A true hidden jewell, probably the best buy for any true golfer to join.

We had some cart problems while on the course, as did some other foursomes. The course staff said that new carts would arrive in a week, so this shouldn't be a problem for long.

A 1960s vintage course with mostly smallish greens, some mounded, and several sitting above the fairway. Quite a few of the holes are interesting and quite scenic. There is a stretch of holes on the back that is very secluded and quiet.
